This is the latest product to enrich the Arla Plast extended transparent polycarbonate portfolio. The product brings the next generation of heat management in buildings.
COLORADO™ UV SOLAR CONTROL SG offers transparency not usually associated with solar control or heat reflecting products. The product has a green tint hence named SG referring to Silica Green colour well know in the glazing industry.
Although the product is transparent it still blocks near-infra red heat which is the main cause of heat build up in buildings. Light transmission itself does not build up heat and is very important reason why end users choose to use transparent products.
It is however counter productive if most of the light transmission is blocked or reflected and COLORADO™ UV SOLAR CONTROL SG allows greater light transmission and transparency.
The sheet is two side UV-protected and hence two side solar control unlike most co-extruded one layer products which are one side solar control only.
In summary the product is transparent, reduces solar transmission whilst allowing higher level of light transmission. The product helps save energy costs by reducing heat build up hence air conditioning costs of up to 25-40% and also reducing electricity costs to allow more light transmission.
The Main applications are in roof domes, skylights, walkways, continuous glazing, atriums, conservatories, stadiums etc.
